NAME AND NICKNAMES: Lincoln Andrew Fife. Primarily goes by Lincoln. Others tend to call him 'Fife' or 'Linc' depending on the degree of friendliness they have among them. He'd go by either regardless, he's a rather easy going person. Another friendlier nickname is 'Batman' though strictly contained to Estelle Winters.
TYPE: Human (Templar Knight).
DOB & AGE: May 14th 1972. 45 years old.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Africa.
OCCUPATION: Templar Knight | Homicide Detective (Seattle PD)
FAMILY: Henry "Hank" Carrington (biological father), Christina Hartman (biological mother; vampire), Juliette Fife (adoptive mother; deceased), Michael Fife (adoptive father; deceased), Nora Fife (adoptive sister; deceased).
Lincoln Fife was not born to this world with conventional means, to say the least.
For most of his peers, he is a tarnish. A black spot in the perfect myth of the slayer and her watcher -- Lincoln was the product of a slayer and her watcher. Obviously, how they met was no secret to anyone. Most people who had met before Lincoln's conception could tell automatically that there was an attraction there, Hank was nearly fifteen years Christina's senior but there was still an attraction there. Admist all the fighting monsters and saving the world from evil, the two fell together. Hank spent nearly ninety percent of his time with her and the other percentage of the time was dealing with the hassle of the council that urged him desperately to seek a potential slayer to take under his wing and allow someone else to come forth and take Christina as their slayer -- to stop from what seemed like the inevitable. But Hank fought it, succumbing to his own passions and eloping with Christina without notifying the Council it was at this point that they decided to fall off the grid and became rogues.
Despite their attempts, they were still followed by the Council. After all, the activated slayer was their responsibility. Hank and Christina made their attempts as they might -- succeeding sometimes but it only grew more futile when the discovery that Christina was going to have a baby came into light. Hank paid off some people and a local doctor in Iowa to have their son not in a public hospital -- going for a decrepit motel that hadn't been used in years instead. Despite keeping their son out of the picture -- he was still in it. Even in the afterglow of having their first child, the Council still waited in the wings having paid the doctor even more money to take their son. Lincoln wasn't even held by Christina once before the small family was taken in by the Council. Hank being transferred to Africa almost immediately, Christina given time to recover while their son was adopted out to a family: the Fifes.
Being spirited away from his birth family, Lincoln was raised in London, England with the Fifes and the normalcy of it was all but short-lived.
The story of Lincoln's origins never came to play for his adoptive family; both Juliette and Michael had their own origins that ran deep in the dark history of the world. Though Juliette and Michael were married to their job -- their faith as Templar Knights. Both were highly regarded in their chosen jobs, but their legacies would end with them. Something they were both very much aware of so the choice to adopt; to continue on their legacies after they would pass was something that was something they could never pass up.
Lincoln was raised knowing of his future duty, of what his adoptive parents did and what he would eventually do in his life. It was something that he never argued with nor did he ever fight -- it was something that he greeted as his destiny. Though his parents had the tendency of being absent with their duties, Lincoln spent a majority of time with his 'nanny' until he was old enough to be left on his own in the family homes or in the cities that his parents had moved him too.
Nora was added to their family shortly after Lincoln's seventh birthday, the survivor of a demonic attack on a small family in Spain. It was more responsibility for him, it was someone to look after. But he did so to the best of his ability it seemed.
While Nora was still young, Lincoln spent a majority of his time doing as his parents' wanted him to: get ready to take on the duty of being a Templar Knight. When he was a teenager, it was when he was finally getting tempted to a life away from being a Templar by the introduction of his birth mother, Christina. The former slayer turned vampire who only wanted one thing; getting her son back to her. It made things easy, simple -- Juliette and Michael were too focused on their lives and less focused on the lives they had at home that Lincoln was just a sitting duck for Christina who had pulled him out of the life he was living to inform him of the life he had been stolen from; of what he could truly be capable of if he really tried.
Lincoln was tempted to the dark side, learning how to sabotage his parents in their duties as Templar Knights; in listening to Christina whispering in his ear of all the things he could do with his life if he wasn't tied down by the Templar Knights and with whom he truly belonged with. Before Lincoln was lost forever, Juliette got in the way -- not killing Christina but spooking the vampire away enough to get her son back. For a while, Lincoln blamed himself; people had gotten hurt but he was eventually pulled back to the world he was fated to be a part of.
He dedicated his life to being a Templar Knight and eventually began his training.
His first solo mission at 22 was a disaster. Lincoln felt as though his parents were waiting for him to fail. His mission brought him into the life of Owen and Melissa Ridley, tracking down a witch that sought to bring the destruction of their family; it was his intention to get the witch alive. It ended up with the witch being killed and it coming out that it had been the siblings missing brother -- Kian. His relationship he had built with them was destroyed -- but his mind was splintered along with that. Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. And the same black spot that had existed since his birth now haunted him as a Templar.
Lincoln was seen as a risk most of the time, he took the roads less traveled and with his unorthodox methods his presence was never a good thing to have in the field. But he was effective, he was successful in getting artifacts and getting under people's skin enough to get information.
His missions were usually darker in nature, but always brought results. Lincoln's loose cannon ways were usually spread like wild-fire before it came down the grapevine that there were things happening in Seattle. As he is usually viewed as a human clean-up crew when it comes to certain things; he was reassigned from his current place in South America. But as a new hope in his mind, a fresh start -- to change people's minds of his less than by the books attitude by feigning a strict mindset.
In other communities it could be seen as 'wetworks'.
